LaunchPad integrates an embedded operating system with one of DSP Design’s high performance embedded computer modules and powerful development tools, to provide the perfect way to develop your application.

Each LaunchPad provides everything you need to develop an application:

Target Operating System
A copy of the operating system, pre-configured for one of the processors, is installed on the target hardware. The operating system image is fully network enabled and capable of hosting text, graphical and web-based applications. A ready-to-run sample application is also present in the target image. We save you time and money by configuring the operating system and drivers for the target hardware.

Host Operating System and Tools
Development takes place using a Windows 2000, QNX or Linux host, depending on the LaunchPad. Simple installation instructions guide you through installing the host OS (Linux only) and then the graphical development and debugging tools, drivers, target images and sample applications. We save you time and money by ensuring that your development environment is correctly configured for the target hardware.

Documentation and Sample Programs
The LaunchPad pack contains a printed QuickStart Guide and an in-depth Developer’s Guide. Complete documentation, manuals and software for the target hardware are provided on CD-ROMs. Sample programs and tutorials guide you through the development process on the actual hardware you will be using.

LaunchPad Hardware
The LaunchPad hardware is based on DSP Design’s standard, high-performance embedded computers. The processor board is connected to adapter boards providing standard PC connectors for keyboard, mouse, VGA, Ethernet serial and printer ports.

The target operating system image is contained in a Compact Flash memory card, operating as a solid-state disk drive. Also included in the LaunchPad kit are the accessories you will need - power supply, mouse, keyboard adapter and others.

Your application is designed, developed and deployed on the processor module you have chosen for your final system, easing your transition into production.
