Product Details
DSP Design is committed to supporting customers by supplying high quality product that meets the RoHS directive, which came into force on 1st July 2006.
The RoHS directive aims to protect human health and the environment by restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in new equipment. It applies to many of our customers, and we encourage our customers to research how the legislation affects their products.
Which DSP Design products are affected?
DSP Design has already ensured that all new products launched after January 2005 are RoHS compliant and where possible we have transitioned our whole product range to be RoHS compliant.
The technical details of compliance are complex and to ensure timely compliance with this legislation we will be working closely with suppliers who will play a key role in providing documentation of the compliance of their products.
What is the timescale for implementing this change?
In October 2005 we will publish a full list of products and part numbers that will be offered as RoHS compliant. RoHS compliant products will be given a different part number to ensure that customers are aware of the status of the product they are buying.
• On 1st November 2005 DSP Design will start accepting orders for RoHS compliant products.
• By the end of February 2006 over 80% of DSP Design products will be available as RoHS compliant.
• By the end of April 2006 RoHS all planned DSP Design products will be available as RoHS compliant.
DSP Design will continue to offer pre-compliant product whilst stocks last for use as spares or for use in RoHS exempt applications.
